Surfs up mikey10/2/2023 ![]() The animation itself is top notch, with realistic surfing sequences (lots of beautifully lit tube shooting) and an eerie 'boneyard' of dangerous shore rocks. Championship surfers like Kelly Slater and Rob Machado appear in avian versions of themselves. Better is Reggie Belafonte (voice of James Woods, "Northfork"), an otter with Don King hair, who is a manipulative promoter with a cute, furry face. If there's a disappointment in "Surf's Up's" cast of characters, it is Tank Evans (voice of Diedrich Bader, "Napoleon Dynamite"), a stock bad guy bully who nonetheless helps fuel Cody's character development. Lifeguard Lani Aliikai (voice of Zooey Deschanel, "Elf") is admittedly a bit of a bland romantic interest, but she's given a terrific prop in her expressive squid aquatic propeller and cute subplot in Arnold, a chick who keeps drowning in order to be saved. Bridge's Z is a great character, a sort of Big Bird by way of Big Lebowski, as comfortable as an old couch. And if the filmmakers are guilty of borrowing, they borrow from the best - witness a Greek chorus of penguin chicks straight out of Aardman's "Creature Comforts." "Surf's Up" also has heart in the relationship between Cody, whose unabashed fandom in discovering the old washed up surfer hidden in the jungle is none other than Big Z turns to teenaged resentment of the big guy's take-it-slow advice, and Z. ![]() Take the native Pen Guans, for example, a group comprised of the funniest cannibalistic movie cliches who start intent on on stewing him and end up forming his fan base. Same goes for Jon "Napoleon Dynamite" Heder's Chicken Joe, a goofy stoner rooster whose childlike naivety brings out the goodness in others. The over-caffeinated cartoon character would seem done to death ("Ice Age," "Hoodwinked"), but James Woods and the spindly legs of his character make it seem fresh. But what makes "Surf's Up" so good is in the detail. The story itself is nothing new - a fledgling athlete is taken under the wing of a washed up former champ and learns that the sport is not all about winning. But surprise, "Surf's Up" turns out to be a small winner, a cute animal animation that works its surfer world with offbeat humor. Cody believes that winning will bring him the admiration and respect he desires, but when he unexpectedly comes face to face with a washed-up old surfer named Geek (Jeff Bridges), Cody begins to find his own way, and discovers that a true winner isn't always the one who comes in first.Surfing penguins? The thought smacked of over saturation, a late to the party guest wearing a worn out trend. Along the way, Cody meets surf nut Chicken Joe (Joe Heder), famous surf promoter Reggie Belafonte (James Woods), surf talent scout Mikey Abromowitz (Mario Cantone), and spirited lifeguard Lani Aliikai (Zooey Deshannel), all of whom recognize Cody's passion for surfing, even if it sometimes goes too far. ![]() Followed by a camera crew to document his experiences, Cody leaves his family and home in Shiverpool, Antarctica, to travel to Pen Gu Island for the Big Z Memorial Surf Off. The film profiles teenage Rockhopper penguin Cody Maverick (Shia LaBeouf), an up-and-coming surfer, as he enters his first pro competition. "Surf's Up" is an animated comedy that delves behind the scenes of the high-octane world of competitive surfing. — - Starring: Shia LeBeouf, Jon Heder, Zooey Deschanel, James Woods, Jeff Bridges, Michael McKean, Jane Krakowski, Diedrich Bader

Riviera maya restaurant margarita night10/2/2023 The tiramisu was exceptional as well, and the panacotta was light and delicious after a big meal. ![]() Order the calamari, arancini, mushroom or toscana soup, La Stella pizza, and the carbonara with spaghetti. From the music, to the dancing and the floating beer tray-such a fun time! The FOOD- Frank and Lola’s was our favorite! We have eaten at almost ever property including Le Chique and the Palafitos and the meal we had here was just wonderful. The beer foam party for International Beer Day was a day to remember. ![]() They got people up and moving at the pool, and quietly respected those wanting to keep it chill. We also enjoyed the many drinks at the SOS bar-I never got the bartender’s name because we really enjoyed the quietness of the pool and his drinks! The Entertainment Team- although I didn’t get their names, they are probably the MOST entertaining staff I have seen. I wish they could bring some of those experiences to their other properties. They are the most entertaining, personable, and top-notch mixologists we have ever seen at the Karisma properties! They take bartending to a whole new level and make it an experience! Be sure to check it out. Gibran and Hector are another dynamic duo at the Salted Rim. They gave wonderful recommendations and we could not have more more impressed. We felt the love! Benito and Fredi were also amazing waiters there. We returned there on our last night and had a special, quiet space nicely decorated for us. We absolutely loved it there and I think her friendly face and leadership make everything there run so smoothly. Nancy, at Frank and Lola’s is another gem. We used our anniversary dinner (package) to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday and the resort chef, Fernando and his sous chef, Luis created this most authentic Mexican themed meal to celebrate. The PROS: -The STAFF make this place: our butlers, Karen and Adam were absolutely exceptional. We waited patiently for this resort to open after staying at Margaritaville Riviera Cancun last summer with family. Grim dawn vs victor vran10/2/2023 ![]() ![]() Victor Vran: Is in fact more of an brawler than an arpg. To your question of comparison: Highly recommend Grim Dawn, do not recommend Van Helsing at all, and can't offer insight into Victor Vran because I'm too busy with Grim Dawn. Whereas D3 is only playable with a pre-defined set of gear which determines the playstyle and PoE revolves around ladder pushing through a very strong metagame, GD just wants to be played. ![]() Some things fall off later (usually in lategame Ultimate, the third and highest difficulty, though I can't personally testify to that because I have yet to get a character over 80), but having the freedom to at least try without the game shoehorning you into one of a handful of builds is a great experience in character creation. I got sidetracked and have been meaning to give it another go, but whenever I want to play an ARPG I remember one of my dozens of builds I'm currently working on in Grim Dawn and feel like I'll get to Vran "later" once I'm "done" with everything there is to explore in GD, but coming up on 500 hours and with another expansion slated for later this year, I don't think that's going to be any time soon.Įveryone wants different things, but for me GD is the best iteration of the ARPG experience there is for one simple reason: you can make a build around basically anything in the game and it will work reasonably well. You choose between a few different weapons and skills to determine your playstyle, but you're ultimately always going to be playing through Victor's story as Victor, and I'm doubtful I would be able to play it multiple times just to see the other skills. Victor Vran is a better experience with much more theoretical replayability due to its mechanics and build customization options, but I'd call it more of a hack'n'slash than an ARPG. It plays like a single-player campaign with a thin veneer of ARPG mechanics with no interest in being a full-fledged ARPG. I'd rate the replayability very, very low and the complexity/interest of skills as below par for ARPGs. The other skills were not interesting enough to bother using and the game was not interesting enough to bother playing again to try the other class. I played a rifle build and all I ended up doing was left clicking through the game. Helsing was very shallow in build creation and skill use. I have all three (if you're referring to the first Van Helsing title) and for comparison I put 12.5 hours into Helsing, 2.5 hours into Vran, and 483 hours into Grim Dawn (so far). Topic Filtersĭifferent games entirely, and it depends on what you want out of your ARPGs. Released in 2016, it currently has two expansions: Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods. This ARPG features complex character development, hundreds of unique items, crafting and quests with choice & consequence. Grim Dawn is an action role-playing game for the PC, developed by veterans of Iron Lore Entertainment, the creators of Titan Quest.Įnter an apocalyptic fantasy world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold and trust is hard earned.

Analysis of lieutenant General Natonski’s performance in the winning of The Second War of Fallujah The decisive tactical decisions made by LTG Natonski ensured that the insurgents were permanently eliminated and the city was recaptured and maintained by the coalition forces.Ī significant correlation exists between effective and efficient war strategies and positive outcomes which include winning a war as evidenced by the techniques employed General Natonski in the war of Fallujah. The decisions made during the first war of Fallujah made the city even more vulnerable to insurgents and within a short period, insurgents had secured the city again. Lightspeed login team timecards10/2/2023 As consultancy firms usually charge an hourly rate for their services, it’s vital that every hour is accounted for. ![]() ProfitabilityĬonsultant hours tracking is also important for profitability. Is Sarah rushing through tasks or is David taking too long to complete them? Maybe David doesn’t have access to a tool that Sarah uses to cut down on manual administrative work? This shows how a simple time record can enhance visibility in a professional services company, helping project managers to spot potential roadblocks early and address them before they escalate. Let’s look at an example: David logs 14 hours for a task that took Sarah two hours. This will naturally vary from person to person but if there is a massive discrepancy between two individuals, it may require further investigation. By tracking the working hours of each consultant using individual timesheets, managers will be able to see how long each person spends on specific tasks. If you’re a project manager overseeing a team of consultants, you need to know how each member is performing. There is more transparency between the two parties, which leads to a greater sense of trust. Timelogs and other time-related records are extremely useful for this purpose.īy showing clients a detailed breakdown of how much time is spent on each task, they can clearly see where their money is going. Sometimes, a client may have an issue with a consultant’s fee and may require more detailed information on why a service costs a certain amount. For example, if previous data shows that an initial research task for a new business usually takes five days, consultants can factor that in when creating a task list for a newly signed client. By tracking time automatically, consultants can also eliminate the possibility of forgetting to start a timelog when they begin work on a task.Īccurate time records provide real insights into consultancy activities and are a key tool for future resource planning. This data is more reliable than human memory, as people may forget how long a previous task took. When consultants track time, they get an accurate record of how much effort is being spent on a particular project or client. Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of time tracking for consultants. That way, you can decide on an appropriate price for your services. Without a standard weekly timesheet, it’s vital that these employees have some way of recording their professional efforts. Time tracking for consultants is particularly important - rather than clocking in for a 9 to 5, a consultant will likely charge by the hour. ![]() ![]() Why is time tracking for consultants important?
